POTS AND PIES BAKERY – TWO LOCATIONS, REDUCED DINING SPACE
(Crystal Lake, IL) In May 2026, owner and Chef Auriane Ugalde added a second location at the Shops on Main in Huntley for her Pots and Pies Bakery founded in Downtown Crystal Lake. To reduce overhead at the Crystal Lake location, Ugalde recently closed the dining room and rented the space at 67B Woodstock Street to Abide in Courage Counseling https://www.abideincourage.com/.
“Our two locations are busy serving sweet and savory pies, croissants, baked goods, coffees and teas yet the dine-in space has been underutilized,” reports Auriane Ugalde. “Crystal Lake has limited guest seating inside and both locations have outdoor seating.”
With nearly four years in Downtown Crystal Lake, Ugalde enjoys a steady flow of regular customers yet there are always new folks discovering the French inspired bakery. In addition to involvement in the Downtown Crystal Lake community, Ugalde applied for the Shops on Main to expand the customer base into a new community.
“Shops on Main are open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. from May 1 until December 20,” explains Ugalde. “Hours of operation at the Downtown Crystal Lake location are Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.”
Chef Auriane Ugalde has been cooking professionally for many years. As a young child, Chef Auriane learned to cook with her grandmothers, and later practiced cooking skills through the Legendary Julia Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" cookbook, one recipe at a time. She had the unique opportunity to stage with the legendary, Michelin-starred, Juan Mari Arzak in Spain, then continued stateside working for Lettuce Entertain You at Cafe BaBaReeba in Lincoln Park, Chicago. Over the years she has worked in many cuisines in all the stations of the kitchens in various restaurants around the U.S.
“We continue to invest in our quality ingredients and focus on our excellent baking and counter staff to maximize our customers’ experience,” exclaims Auriane Ugalde. “Come visit us at either location soon!”
Delivery is now available through Grubhub and Doordash and online ordering for pickup is available as always.

and Saturday, 8am-3pm for our Crystal Lake location,
Friday-Sundays 10am-5pm for our Huntley Location!
