Chef Auriane Ugalde has been cooking professionally for many years. As a young child, Chef Auriane learned to cook with her grandmothers, and later practiced cooking skills through the Legendary Julia Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" cookbook, one recipe at a time. She had the unique opportunity to stage with the legendary Juan Mari Arzak in Spain, then continued stateside working for Lettuce Entertain You at Cafe BaBaReeba in Lincoln Park, Chicago. Over the years she has worked in many cuisines in all the stations of the kitchens in various restaurants around the U.S.
Now, Chef Auriane has brought her vast cooking and baking knowledge to downtown Crystal Lake, Il, where she has opened Pots and Pies Bakery. This Parisian themed bakery showcases Chef Auriane's wide repertoire of sweet pies, savory pies and a number of other delicious pastries, all using fresh ingredients and prepared fresh, in house.
